Does spraying cooking oil on your nails make them dry faster?

I've heard rumors that spraying cooking oil on your nails after you paint them makes them dry faster.

Is this true?

How do you do it? I've googled this many times and haven't found any directions on how to do it.

I always make a mess when I paint my nails, if this really works it would be awesome...help!Does spraying cooking oil on your nails make them dry faster?
I think this idea should be filed with the urban myths page. Your nail polish dries because the solvent in the polish evaporates, if you sprayed cooking oil on the fresh polish this would slow the evaporation of the solvent and thus take longer for the polish to dry.
