What is the best way to get out dried on nail varnish from clothes?

Assuming the material isn't very delicate, I would use a very sharp knife and gently go over the area until it's mostly gone. Then I'd get some tweezers and take the rest off. You can also try using straight Acetone, but test an inconspicuous spot on the clothing if you go that route. Also, immediately wash the clothing afterward. What is the best way to get out dried on nail varnish from clothes?
acetone.

What is your beauty routine? Be specific. How long for makeup How often other things like nails, blow dry hair

I am wondering how much time the typical girl spends getting ready. Maybe 10 min too little I'm thinking. What is your beauty routine? Be specific. How long for makeup How often other things like nails, blow dry hair
This is mine in a nutshell:

Mon.-Fri. Gym early in the a.m, shower (this is where I use the facial cleanser) Typically because I've worked out my face has a natural glow so all I apply is my daily moisturizer and my eye cream. Maybe a little concealer. Mascara and a natural brown liner are a must along with making sure the eyebrows look good. (This is the 1st thing people notice about your face, so I make them look alive and refreshed) and I top it off by applying a natural-colored lip gloss. Hair washed and blow dried (takes me about 15-20 minutes) lotion the body with Jergen's Natural Glow, I get dressed and face the world!!!

Weekends I'm either very low or high maintenance depending on events scheduled. One thing is for sure, i can't leave the house without having suncreen on my body/face and a great lipgloss! What is your beauty routine? Be specific. How long for makeup How often other things like nails, blow dry hair
i'm sort of tomboy-ish, so i'm pretty low maitenance. i can take a shower, brush my teeth, fix my hair, do my makeup, and get dressed in under 30 minutes.
i spend all my time in the morning trying to get out of bed and then i go to the bathroom and pee, brush my teeth, wash my face (sometimes), and put in my contacts. I put on my deoderant and spend like 10-15 minutes trying to pick something to wear then I'm off! Half an hour total.
Morning

Shower - 8-10 minutes

Facial Cleanser/Acne Lotion/Tinted Moisturizer - 5 minutes

Makeup - 4 minutes

Hair - Blowdry - 10 minutes

Hair - Styling - 4 mintues

For a total of 31-33 minutes

Evening

Facial Cleanser - 2 minutes

Acne Clearing System - 4 minutes

Honey Facial Mask - every other day - 15 minutes

For a total of 6-21 minutes.

I don't do my nails. I did not factor dressing into my time. This is only when I have a lot of time. When I don't I can be much faster.
I'm a kinda, drama queen, girly girl. So it takes me like 1-3 hours. Sometimes 4 if I'm going out to somewhere important. It usually takes 1-2 hours for my hair if I'm straightening it and 45 min-1 hours if I'm curling it. I never leave it natural, my hair is horrible at its natural state. My makeup can take anywhere from 7-15 min and picking out what to wear and geting dressed can take 5-30 min! But yeah, thats just me... No one else I know takes that long. Oh and if I do my nails it usually takes about 10 min. Just a quick little coat of light pink!
Comb out tangles when wet and blowdry with round boar brush to add volume to crown. Tame frizzies with lil' almond oil. I have no idea how long that takes... That prolly twice weekly...

I wash my face and then apply moisturizer with SPF 15. Then spray on sunscreen to face and neck. Sleek back my brows and moisturize lips with vaseline, and then apply concealer with brush, and then tap it in. Bronzer when I actually care, and satsuma perfume oil on wrists from the body shop.

Nails are maybe once a month if I remember... Body scrub every week, and deep conditioning every week for hair.

Does spraying cooking oil on your nails make them dry faster?

I've heard rumors that spraying cooking oil on your nails after you paint them makes them dry faster.

Is this true?

How do you do it? I've googled this many times and haven't found any directions on how to do it.

I always make a mess when I paint my nails, if this really works it would be awesome...help!Does spraying cooking oil on your nails make them dry faster?
I think this idea should be filed with the urban myths page. Your nail polish dries because the solvent in the polish evaporates, if you sprayed cooking oil on the fresh polish this would slow the evaporation of the solvent and thus take longer for the polish to dry.

With a base coat, minimum of 2 color coats, and a top coat, painting our nails can be very time consuming, especially when waiting for them to dry. I understand your frustration. I think one of the main reasons it takes so long to dry for many of us is because we don't allow each coat to set before applying a new coat. If you wait a minute or so between coats, it will cut your complete drying time in half. The last thing you want is a beautifully done manicure that you thought was dry get a gouge in it later from the base not drying completely. Also, try a speed dry top coat and use it as your base coat also. Hope this helps.
Yes! I have been doing nails for 6 years. The trick is first, you want to make sure that you have a fast dry topcoat. My favorite ever is Seche Vite, you can find it at almost any salon. Then you want to make sure you apply 2 layers of your color. The best trick I have come across is to wait 3-5 minutes before applying your topcoat. Total dry time is about 15 min. You never want to use heat to dry your polish, it could make it bubble.

Another tip is to make sure you always use a good base coat. I like Creative Nail Designs Sticky base. A base coat will make your polish stays on longer, your application smoother, and your nails won't get stained (yellow) from the color.
blow them, put them in front of a fan, wave them in the air, or put them in front of a _safe_ space heater. Dont ever try to dry them off with a towel or tissue paper or something. if you have some nail polish on you fingers, wait till it dries, then take a q-tip and dip it in some nail polish remover, then remove the nail polish with a q-tip. ;)
You can buy the quick dry nail polishes, they work really well.

You can put your fingers in front of a fan (on cold air)

You can use the blow dryer

You can put nail polish at a time when you are doing something which does not imply ruining your drying nail polish, like read a book, or mag, and your nails will dry before you know it!

    Nothing else for now ... but please do not stick your hands in the freezer it does not sound right %26gt;.%26lt;

    Hope I helped

    Bye :)
this may sound kinda weird but I have my own method and they dry super fast this way, I apply the first coat, then blow them for about 2minutes then I apply the second coat then blow them for another 2minutes, then I put each finger in my mouth to wet my nails then I stick them out of the window to air dry and it works wonders LOL
when your nails are wet, fill up a bathroom sink about 1 tenth full (you can put more if you want)

Then, put your hands in the water so they lie flat on the basin. Don't swish your hands.

This won't completely dry your nails, but it will help.
Some of the quick-dry aerosol sprays are good, but some make streaks.

    ---OR---

After letting them dry a few minutes, dip your nails in a bowl of ice-cold water. Don't rub your hands/nails dry after doing this (pat dry) or else they still may smudge/dent.
You can buy this little spray stuff at,like,Wal-mart or Target in the beauty isle or at a beauty store. You just spritz it on your nails and it drys them ! (= Its like $1.OO-$3.OO . Hope I helped !
There is this spray called nail freeze or something like that. I cant remember exactly what it is called but after you paint your nails you spray it on them and they instantly dry. It works great!

turn the fan on in your bedroom really high, then lay on you bed with your arms spread out and think about something, in while, b4 you know it, your nails will be dry!
You need an environment that has as little humidity as possible.

However you have to accomplish this.....this is what will dry your nails fastest.

Go buy a small portable refrigerator and keep it in your room. When you paint your nails, open the door and then stick your hands in with a town over the crack in the door...leave them there for a while....say 15 minutes at a time. The smaller frige won't eat up to much electricity, and is a good size for what you need.

I could tell you another way, but it's a little detailed to describe here, and you wouldn't need a frige, and it would probably be a lot cheaper.
I run them under cold water, and shake my hands around. Normally when the water dries, so are my nails, but still be carefull about them! This has only worked for me, and I don't know about anyone else. You can try it though, and see if it works.
get a hair dryer and use that it works for me!!
There are special products like a nail dryer spray. You just spray each nail, but carefully. Not too much. In a matter of seconds your nails are dry.
Well.. i'd say go get a cheap little nail dryer..or buy a can of nail dryer stuff..that works good.
products... as in special nail polish? well, anyway, they sell nail-dryers, which have a fan and a special red light on a timer that dry your nails faster.

I don't know where you could buy one, though....
i was just gonna say hair dryer...or you could invest in a nail dryer...they're like 10 bucks...they dont work as well as they should, but its better than walking around smearing polish on everything.
    uh......hair dryer

I have the same problem year-round. I'm addicted to using lotion on my cuticles because of it. Instead of a few times a week, use it after every time you wash your hands. I put lotion on like 6 times a day.
You should use it more often, but for instant results, use carmex.

I keep it with me everywhere, and whenever I have frizzy hair or an icky nail, or when my eyebrows get red from tweezing and I have 5 minutes until I go somewhere, I use it, and it works instantly.

    I love it.

Just rub it wherever your issue is, and its fantastic.

don't know about that but if you will wait about eight to ten minutes after you paint your nails and then put them under cold running water they will set hard. start by running your hands under water palms up so most of the water runs on the palms of your hands and just runs on your nails a little. Then flip your hands over and run the cold water over your nails. Once you do this they will be set and will not smudge. How can I remove dried-in nail polish from clothes?

I accidentally got a dab of nail polish on my clothes, and because I was not at home I couldn't apply a bit of nail polish remover. I tried putting soap and water on it but it wouldn't budge. So I put it in the wash hoping that would remove it but it wouldn't. Back home, I rubbed some nail polish remover on the stain but that didn't work either. So I'm hoping someone can give me some advice or tips on how to remove dried-in nail polish from fabrics! The garment is made from cotton. How can I remove dried-in nail polish from clothes?
You will have to soak the stain long enough for the polish to dissolve. To do this, saturate a cotton ball with polish remover or acetone (most or all fingernail polishes are acetone based). Then hold the ball on the stain, until it penetrates the cloth, and keep the stain moist. After a few minutes, try rinsing it with cold water. If you got some of the stain out, repeat the process. Think about removing polish from your nails...you can't just swipe polish remover across them and have the polish removed instantly, you have to scrub at them a bit. And nails are not nearly as absorbent as cloth is.

Acetone will dissolve some fabrics, particularly synthetics. And I do mean dissolve. The fabric will melt. If your garment is 100% cotton, it should be OK. If it's a cotton blend, though, test the polish remover on a hidden area, like an inside seam.

Some polishes contain dyes or colors which can stain things, though. Darker colors, and especially reds, are really bad about this. This is the reason a clear base coat is recommended, because dark polishes can stain the fingernails. If the fibers on your clothes are stained, and you have removed all the polish, then I'm sorry, but you're out of luck. The garment is permanently stained.

You might have set the polish and stain permanently when you washed and dried your garment. You should only try to remove stains in the wash if the stain is water-soluble. Nail polish is not water-soluble, otherwise it wouldn't last through the normal handwashings people do throughout the day.

A drycleaner MIGHT be able to get it out, if all else fails. Drycleaners have a vast array of chemicals at their disposal, and they know how to use these chemicals. But if the stain is set, they might not be able to do anything. How can I remove dried-in nail polish from clothes?
Because of the chemicals it is made from only certain solvents (Such as nail polish remover) will remove it. Try drowning the selected area it in polish remover and running it under a tap to wash away both the polish and the remover.

That is the method i used to use to remove super glue from clothing.
they sell satin removers at the store u could buy one
White Spirit will do the job, though it takes at least two washes there after to get rid of the smell.
Rub in some nail polish remover :]
uuum... you cant, you are pretty much screwd!

Any suggestions on what vitamins may assist ??What VITAMINS can I take to help with dry nails/hair/skin/lips??
Anything that is high in vitamin E. Try getting a supplement of either vitamin E, Flax-seed Oil, or Fish oi. Also, your skin condition, just like the rest of your body, depends on what you put in it. Diets high in citrus fruits and water are good, but eat healthy all around. What VITAMINS can I take to help with dry nails/hair/skin/lips??
    calcium tablets.
Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.

Vitamins A, C, and E are the best combination for beautiful skin. You can often find them all combined in one tablet or you can buy them individually. The daily amounts you want are Vit A = 10,000 - 15,000 IU; Vit C = 3,000 - 6,000 mg; Vit E = 400 - 800 IU.

It would probably also be helpful to take a daily multi-vitamin.
go to the health food store and purchase flax seed oil...it comes in capsules or in the refrigerated section sometimes they have it in liquid form and some might be marketed for hair, nails and skin...

I sympathize with you, my granddaughter painted my white slippers with red nail polish, I had to throw them away. If it is a small amount of nail polish, I would try clean nail polish remover. If the nail polish remover isn't clear (of other colors) it will also stain the material. Put a rag underneath the comforter and use a sponge to dab the nail polish out. I hope this works. Also, before you begin, you might want to test if the material fades from the nail polish remover. I would try a little in a spot on the comforter that would not show if it didn't work.

I like Lumene, it stays up to 4 days. Previously I had Dior, which was on till the first handwash..
    Jessica!

First came accross this when they used it on me in the beauticians!

My nail varnish chips within hours sometimes.

That stayed on for AT LEAST 4 days without a mark b4 it started 2 chip!

    was awesome!
I recently stumbled upon Sinful Colors Professional nail enamel. I found it at walgreens for $1.99. This stuff is amazing! It dries in under 3 minutes and absolutely does not chip at all. It will wear off before it comes off.

How do I get dried finger nail polish off of a laminate floor?

You can try prying it off - with a pin head, a letter opener, or knife blade (but be careful NOT to dig into or cut the laminate.)

If that doesn't work, you can try using fingernail polish remover (NON-ACETONE) but use it sparingly. Rub just a little at a time and see it if will take it off layer by layer without hurting the laminate. Don't douse it with the remover - dab it on with a Q-tip to control the polish remover and concentrate it right on the stain. How do I get dried finger nail polish off of a laminate floor?
Put some nail varnish remover on a cotton bud and rub gently. Try not to get too much on the floor. It depends on the laminate that you have but you shouldn't damage it with the remover - just be carefull in case. Wash the area after with detergent and warm water - good luck. How do I get dried finger nail polish off of a laminate floor?
Nail polish remover would work. Try a blade or goo gone too. I'd soak a paper towel in the remover, then lay it on the laminate so as not to scratch it. Let it soak into the polish on the floor, then wipe.
use nail polish remover...worked for me:)

use Acetone (better and stronger than dilute Polish Remover). you can find it in most drugstores.
I had the same problem. I used a bit of nail polish remover and them mopped afterward. 2D
    nail polish remover.
I would try to gently scrape it off with a razor blade. It should pop right off.
I would use Sol U Mel. It's sold by Melaleuca. Let me know if you need more info.

Why does it take so long for your nails to dry when you get them done professionally?

Every time I get my nails done I always mess them up. I can set there and wait for an hour, I use the nail enamel dryer, and they don't seem to dry. What can I do so that I don't waste my time and money???????Why does it take so long for your nails to dry when you get them done professionally?
I have been getting my nails done every two weeks for well over a year, I have only had this problem once. My nail tech uses three sometimes four coats on my nails. 2 polish, 1 top coat and sometimes 1 coat of this stuff that prevents yellowing. Maybe the polish is old or low quality my salon uses OPI its great and they have awesome colors. Maybe buy your own polish and ask them to limit it to 3 coats no more, and don't use that spray stuff just put your hands under the drying table for 15 min. or so. Good Luck. Why does it take so long for your nails to dry when you get them done professionally?
If u ask me Jody O you should buy an electric nail %26amp; toe dryer. They only cost $2.95.
Well try switching salons that you go to. The nail one I go to they might not use such a waterbassed polish so it doesnt take as long to dry. Some places also have spray to put on your nails to make them dry faster.

If you want to save money your going to have to buy th polish and do it yourself.
Because doze wittle Asian peoples use spensive polishes dat no dry so hard. You mess up nails, come back sooner. More money for me send home to China, cowgirl.

Ever wondered how to make nail polish dry faster and look shinier? Heres your answers!!!?

To make nails dry faster and look shinier is by using a strong hold hairspray! Blow on nails for 1 minute after painting then hold the hairspray about a foot from your hand and spray from your thumb to your pinky finger and let dry. The Maybelline speed dry polish works really well for me. I don't get the gouges, or the peeled back look with that!

buy the kind that says 60 second polish or quick dry polish - they dry very quickly
Paint your nails are usual and when you are done, dip your fingers in ice water, leave in for 30 seconds. This may sound risky.... but it works
There is this special fan at a nail spa. Just call a nail spa and ask if you can order one or ask where you can get one. Never but the 60 second one it doesn't work

    Hope I helped :)

Some people say hot and some say cold!To dry nails fast do you use Hot Water Or Cold Water?
Definately cold water! To dry nails fast do you use Hot Water Or Cold Water?
definitely cold... i've read it somewhere and tried it.. it works!
    cold water
Here's the trick.....use mineral oil applied lightly with q-tip on the nails about a minute after your last coat of polish. Then a quick dip in a bowl of ice cold water for about 2 minutes. Then re-apply the mineral oil. You'll be good to go! Whatever you do....NO HOT WATER! Good luck!
cold always works for me...never tried hot..
cold....definately cold......or use your blow dryer on the cold setting....
Try using a dryer instead. I would think the water would just make it gummy.
cold of course but try a dryer its better
    cold water.

How do you get dried black nail polish off a light green and white comforter?

i spilled 'black lingerie' from revlon on my bed comforter and i've tried water, nail polish remover, and hydrogen peroxide and i just got tired and went to sleep. my mom says nothing can get it out but i NEED to get it out....please please please help me.How do you get dried black nail polish off a light green and white comforter?
If its on the white part of the comforter, maybe bleach? Go to a cleaning store and try some different items. Maybe if you take it to a dry cleaners and ask them they can help you out. Goodluck! How do you get dried black nail polish off a light green and white comforter?
Darlin, you are not gonna get black nail polish out of white or light green. It's that simple. Never never never. The other answers are from people trying to be helpful, but you are screwed. But this is clearly important to you and I never say never. You may not be able to remove it entirely, but you can cover it. Go to an art supply store and ask for a water proof paint. The oil painting isle would probably be your best bet. Buy white and cream to try to match your white. Mix it on a pallet until you get the right shade and just paint over the black. What? You got a better idea? Do the same with the green areas. Buy yellow, green and blue, then mix until you get a match. Just remember it will dry just a tiny bit darker.

Otherwise, maybe a dry cleaner who does alterations could cut like six inches off the end, sew that end shut and use the scrap as a patch. That might be a better idea, depending on the pattern, if you don't mind shortening it. And you would be surprised how little they charge.

If you try these methods; do them OUTSIDE due to the fumes.

Always test the cloth with just a bit of the acetone to make sure it does not fade the color or even dissolve the material.

    Again, do this OUTSIDE.
Try benzine or turpentine. That should remove it but try to do it outside or in a very well ventilated room.

semenHow do i remove dried up nail glue off my nails?
Soak your nails 2 at a time in polish remover until you see it getting gummy then scrap it off with an edge of a file. While the next 2 fingers soak add a cuticle oil or even olive oil to the previous soaked nails and rubb it in the nail bed and the cuticle. The oil serves as a lubricant to help in removing any left over reside of glue and to help replace the natural oil lost after soakin because polish remover can dehydrate your nails and skin.

Go to Sally' beauty supply or Walgreens.

    Get these...........

Polish remover (with acetone is ok)

    Nail/cuticle oil (not cream)

    Nail file (medium, not course)

White buffer block (to buff off remaining residue)

    Nail hardener

Let the oil soak in all 10 nails for at least a half hour and then wash your hands and then dry your nails and apply 2 coats of nail hardener.
Soak cotton balls in 100% acetone (they sell this at any beauty supply store), hold the soaked cotton ball in place by wrapping some aluminum foil around your finger. Let stand for 30 min. You should be able to scrap the melted glue right off. Acetone is very drying to the skin. Make sure to moisturize right after.
Soak your nail in warm water for 10 min, and then the glue will become soft and peelable.Even if you said it doesn't work, add a little nail polish remover to the warm water. After soaking, try to take a card and scratch the glue off if it doesn't peel.

DONT do water. it makes it like weird looking water will go to the top and the nail polish will stay to the bottom it doesn't help.
This probably sounds weird, but add a couple drops of nail polish remover to the nail polish and shake it up. Add more if you need to. That's always worked for me! :D
Add water, mixed with a little perfume (sounds weird, but hey) and like everybody else, nail polish remover. Shake it up and apply!

You can put clear nail polish in it, it should work I've done it before.

Good luck! How do you get RED dried nail polish out of carpet?
I don't think you can unless you call a professional carpet cleaning service because the only thing that removes nail polish is acetone which will also remove the carpet's dye. You could see what's cheaper: a new carpet or a professional carpet cleaning.

EDIT: If you do get a carpet cleaner you might want to make sure they can even remove nail polish.....
Well the pigment will be a problem but you can try using Dried Paint Remover which is available in art sypply stores (Michaels). Check it on an inconspicuous spot first. Mask the surrounding area so as not to spread. If that does not work, it is easy to patch carpet IF it is a pile. Cut a patch from the back of a closet, etc. or find a match at a carpet store. Construction adhesive the piece in, Carefully. Practice elsewhere first. This will be fine if it is not in a high traffic area. Have a pro do this if you are not certain that you can do this.
use nail polish remover and have the kids remove their shoes when coming into the house ,get them slippers to save yourself work and money and the complains from the Landlord as well..

No, but a uv light will dry them quicker only for two min or so thou, or a hairdryer will work, or you could get spray that you spray on top that drys them in a min. hope this helpsHelp nail polish dry faster?
The best way is to use a fast dry topcoat such as Out The Door, or Seche Vite. Your nails will be dry in no time at all. Be careful using heat to dry them. It really isn't the best way to dry them. It also takes away much of the shine you worked so hard at getting in the first place, and may bubble the polish.
use a hair dryer w/ cool setting
I like using a hair dryer.

It works great and is fast. No harm done. :)

You can cheaply get a kind that dries up such as spray on your polished nail. Why won't my nail polish dry?
your putting it on too thick.

Apply it in two or three very thin coats that are completely dry before the next application.
u probaly need to blow on them alot and ur probaly using ur hands too much during that preiod of time.
dont put the hard nails on first lol
try going to get a spray that drys nails fast. i have a spray like that and i love it. go to a beauty store and ask about it.
if it takes longer than 10 minutes then you're putting to much on. It should just be a thin layer, then if you want a darker tone, wait for the first layer to dry and then apply an additional one.

It seriously works so well and keeps your nail polish on longer too (:
I don't recommend putting them in front of a fan. Sometimes that can ruin your nail polish. I recommend using a top coat on top of your polish that dries quickly, such as Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth Plus Quick Dry Top Coat. Or just use a fast-drying nail polish like Express Finish.

Why is my top coat nail polish drying frosted?

There could be a chemical reaction between the actual nail colour applied on the nail and the top coat.

The only reason I did it is for my church social it a huge thing!!!My nail poilish keeps rubbing off long after its dry, why?
Mine will do that if i put too many coats on. It just..doesnt work propely. Try using thin coats and making sure each one dries before applying the next.

X's and O'sMy nail poilish keeps rubbing off long after its dry, why?
oh well, if the clear is rubing off its probally an old bottle so go out and buy some more.

i just painted my nails and i used N.Y.C nail polish to cover and its not rubbing off so maybe try it.
its rubbing off because its a cheap brand, yes i have that experience :)
Theres a certain type of nail polish thats suposed to rub off its called peel off nail polish check on the back of the bottle and see what it says.....hope it helped!!!
put a base coat of polish which u can buy almost any store that sales nail polish.apply nail polish the color u like on in 3 strokes even if u dont get the whole nail .do it middle, left ,right then do the other hand. 1st hand should be dry by this time apply second coat repeat on other hand then apply top coat
You may be putting too much polish on or it is a cheap polish.
i think that you are putting too much on your nails. maybe try just nailpolish =]

I use a brush on liquid called Out the door, and then hold them in front of a fan for 5 minutes. Works really good.
spray them with cooking spray.....seriously, it works like the stuff they use at the nail place.
    buy some quick dry
Icewater. Big bowl. Lots of Ice. Don't bump into the cubes with your nails.
I do NOT wear any......i do not like it....
blow on it and put a little mini fan in front of your feet or hands

i blow and flap my hands in the air.
Try Quick Dry or Out the Door!
QUICK DRI BY SALLY HANSEN! lol sorry about the caps I just got really excited because I used to have the same problem -- my polish would be wet for hours and hours and i'd end up with dents.

then i got the sally hansen stuff and they're dry to the touch in about five minutes. without 20 they're dry enough that you can bang them all around and they don't get messed up.
buy the aresol nail drying spray. It works SOOOOOOO good!!!! They have it at my nail shop! I would imagine that you can get it at any beauty supply store! GOOD LUCK!
Run it under a slow stream of cold water, then use a fan
Run your nails under cold water.
There are products that you spray on to dry them instantly. I use one from Avon called freeze dry. It works well. They aren't expensive either.
Put your nails very quickly into a bowl of real cold water then take them out, that should help the polish dry
Get some quick dry. It's clear, many nail polish companies put it out, and it works---with one ';hitch';: The polish can't be old and it can't be on more than about 2 layers thick.
a blow dryer works great,,,,just hold down the ';cold'; buton when you do it!
dry it with a hair dryer....or a fan.
I guess you forgot to buy the bottle of quick-dry when you bought the polish. You can find it in the same place as all the nailpolish. I like Sally Hansen brand best.
shake them and blow on them
I usually just shake my hand and blow on my nails.
    lick it dry
    3 2 1 dry!
try using a blow dryer on a low, cool setting.it also depends on how old the polish is. if it is too old, it will be thick and hard to dry fast. if you use fairly new polish, be patient and allow to dry between coats.
I put them under cold running water...or a hair dryer on cool or a fan or my short little phew phews.........lol
blow on them. fan them in the air. put them under a fan. put on that quick dry nailpolish clear stuff.
stick your hands in the microwave
i blow on my nails...it works very fast!

Can you get dried nail varnish out of fabric?

Yes, just scrap as much as you can with the edge of a plastic card and then use nail varnish removerdabbed with a cotton pad.

Just a bit of advice: The best and safest place to paint one's hand nails is sitting at a table covered in newspaper. To paint the toenails is best to do it in a non carpeted (bathroom or kitchen) covered in newpaper too.

I need to get my nails to dry faster without making a huge mess!

I always mess them up because they aren't completely dry. I need a way to check if they are dry without messing them up as well. Please helpHow to get my nails to dry really FAST!!!!(and to tell if they are dry)?
kk well to dry them really fast wait for like half a minute and them put them under the cold tap(not too fast cuz it can smudge lol) and to tell if they are dry touch them on your lip cuz they don't leave marks there.

happy painting :DHow to get my nails to dry really FAST!!!!(and to tell if they are dry)?
I just usually lightly touch the tip of the nail with my index finger to test if it's dry. But I heard that these nail drying sprays are just as good as a nail drying machine.
THEY DRY FAST WITH A THIN COAT... THE MORE LAYERS OF NAIL POLISH YOU PUT ON THE LONGER IT WILL TAKE TO DRY...

LET YOUR NAILS DRY ONE COAT AT-A-TIME.

AND NEVER RUSH WHEN DOING YOUR NAILS CUZ IT WILL ALWAYS END IN A MESS.
put the hairdryer onto a cool setting and use that
my friends and i usually use this can of nail dryer. you just spray them on your nails and voila! its dry.

How long does it normally take for nail polish to dry?

With 1 coat it won't take so long, probably 3 to 8 minutes. But if you do 2 coats and then quickdry over it it could take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. You can always just be careful and lightly brush the tip of your finger over the polish about 10-15 minutes after you've painted them and see if it disrupts the polish at all [which it shouldn't, unless the polish is really thick and you put on like 4 coats or something weird].

It'll usually be set pretty quick, but it's always good to give it an extra few minutes and be careful with what you do for a good hour after you paint them just to there aren't lint hairs or finger prints jammed into it.

:]How long does it normally take for nail polish to dry?
Two or three thin coats is better than 1 thick coat. As another Yahoo-er said by the time you have done one hand the other will be dry. After your last coat, try not to knock them for an hour (a brilliant excuse for doing nothing). Try sticking your nails in a bowl of iced water. Alternately there are sprays from the chemist that speed up the drying time. How long does it normally take for nail polish to dry?
i like maybelline's express dry polish... i can put on 2 coats and it's dry in less than 10 minutes. same with cover girl nail polish. i've noticed that revlon and sally hansen take longer to dry, especially with 2 coats.... so frustrating!!
It depends on what you put on .

Color takes about 3O minutes , %26amp; French tips are like 2O .

It also depends what you're doing with it .

Putting it in front of a fan would speed up the process .

It's faster than just sitting there .
i guess about 5 to 10 min. it depends on what type of nail polish it is and how cheap it is and the amount u coated on your nail. does this help?
depends on the nail polish. mine are usually pretty dry in a couple mins but as soon as the hit something they get messed up. they're completely dry in less than 10 mins. i use ice brand btw.
each coat takes about 5 to 10 minutes

    it depends on the brand

so if you put two coats on each hand

they'll be fully dried within 20 to 40 minutes

    =]
Depends..There Are Some That Only Take A Minute...There Are Some That Take like 10 minutes or so...

Putting Your Nails Under A Blow Drier Helps Make Them Dry Faster

    a few minutes to dry.
Idk. Depends on which type of nailpolish it is. Usually it takes 2-5 minutes..

    -M
with two coats, usually nails are fully dry in about 45 minutes.
for me 5 mins all u have to do is wait a couple of mins after u coat them then run them under cold water it will harden them!
One hand should be done by the time u finish the other. THen u put the second coat.
It depends on the nailpolish and how many coatings you put on your nails.
usually for me, I just paint all of my nails and wait 5 minutes. But it depends on the brand.
depending on how thick you put it on...

if its ';normal'; thickness then i would say like 15 minutes. ish.
    5-10 minutes
    it depends on the brand

but usually it takes at least 4 or 5 minutes
hey...ya ever get a piece of poop stuck and caught in your butt hair??

    its liek that....
five minutes or so, but it will still smear after up to an hour.
for me, about 5-10 minutes.i blow on them so they dry faster :]
round 10 minutes or faster with a hairdryer
it all depends on what brand. Generally, I'd say a good 5 mintues.
10 MIN. FOR A THIN COAT.
    For me, half an hour.

How can you dry nail paint?

my mom need to knowHow can you dry nail paint?
    Hi from France 鈾?br>

Just she must to put hers fingers/nails in some cold water, never hot !!...

    Have a nice day,

Cat.How can you dry nail paint?
Pam cooking spray will dry fingernail polish quickly
you could use a blowdryer, your could just fan your hands (you know like the way you would if you were too hot), or dip them in cold water - but dont do that right away they have to be mostly dry. NEVER blow on them though, the moisture in your breath will make them worse and it will take forever to dry
Dip them in very cold water.
At nail saloons they have special nail driers and you could ask the peple who work their. But if you dont want to spend alot of money just usee a hair drier***
i heard hairsrpay dries it or a blowdryer
carfully put it under warm water it won't come off! then tap a towel on the nail! then right away its dry!
I just use a fan or go outside~~~~
    1) Dip in Cold Ice Water

    2) Buy a spray from a nail salon that dries it- it doesn't cost a lot and lasts a very long time

    3) Buy a Solar Nail Polish Dryer- when you go into the sun, it dries it immediately

    4) Use a fan

Don't put your nails so close to a fan because it will cause bubbles to appear. Put it about 5 inches away.

Can I use a finger nail file to get the dry skin off the bottom of my feet?

I would'nt try that route. There is a foot exfoliator that you can buy at Wal mart or K mart, or wherever..called ';bare foot'; by Freeman. It has plum %26amp; pumice(which is what you need for calices. It works really well. Would nail polish remover dry up pimples?

i know alcohol dries up pimples cause it also works for blackheads as wellWould nail polish remover dry up pimples?
hey...i've heard of lots of things but not tht i don't think you shud try it beacause its strong acid in it and will get in your pores and burn them..!!!!!!

pleace don't!Would nail polish remover dry up pimples?
Yes, and probably burn a completely new hole in that spot. I wouldn't advise doing that. Try using rubbing alcohol. Or just use a mild soap like Dove everyday on your face.
I don't think that would be good to use on your skin. Try a little toothpaste or an aspirin mask.
acetone is a really bad acid. dont ever use it for heaven's sake-on skin. try putting a toothpaste -not gel toothpaste- overnight. it wud work better. good look. God bless u with a good skin if u choose my answer as best. :)
Try a tiny spot of white vinegar and only on an area not too noticable, it might work as their is some acid in it but be very careful not to put too much on .
    errrrrrrrrrr........!!

    it will cause thm WORSE

plz consult a doctor or sumthin

    istead of developing own ideas

    n taking risk with skin......!
i've never heard that!! but i dont think u shud put that on your skin..... especially your face....

    try lemons or garlic...............
Nail Polish remover contains sodium acetate, definitely not good for drying up pimples
no i dont think so. i dont recommend trying that either cuz nail polish remover is a really strong chemical.

you can get a mud/clay mask add dab a little on the pimple then dry it up
dont do that!! on the back of my polish remover it actually says: Will melt a styrofoam cup. LOL
    uh no.

acetone will like destroy your skin... not kidding it will burn your skin and leave really bad scars. acetone is an acid that, when not mixed with water (dililated) in nailpolish remover, can burn through flesh!!

    VERY BAD IDEA!

    please take my advice.

Why is it that wet nails always dry quicker when you put them in water?

Most people think that water ruins paint, but it seems to be that after you paint your nails and you put them in cold water, they seem to be perfectly manicured. My nails are really ugly. They are so small and I don't have the ';moon';. My thumbs looks like toes and near the cuticle area it's so dry and rough and have so much excess cuticle. They come back everytime I get rid of them and really tiring me. My white tips are also not straight. They are like crooked. I really want to have those nice big nails. However I don't want an artificial ones. Can someone help me on how to make them at least moist and appear bigger? Thank you.Why are my nails so dry, small and rough? How to make them look bigger?
You may have a fungal infection at the nail bed, if you can't afford to go to your doctor the pop into your local chemist and ask his/her opinion. Then you can start from there. A very small number of the population have genetic/hereditary stubbing of the fingers usually the thumb. Without actually seeing your nails it is hard to say. If it is fungal then get that treated, once clear you can look at your lifestyle and dietary needs, your doctor may need to do some blood tests, and get you to see a Dietitian.

Care of the nails can only be started after you get the underlying cause fixed. Why are my nails so dry, small and rough? How to make them look bigger?
Well it sounds like you need more calcium. Calcium supplies the nails with strength and prevents them from becoming dry. Green vegetables, daily supplements, dairy products will bring up your Calcium. And don't bite your nails.
Take Solgar gelatin capsules 2 daily, eat yogurts, drink milk, and take calcium supplements and get Tips nailpolish at QVC and use it.

pros and cons?Do Avon's Instant Manicure Dry Nail Enamel Strips work?
I used them, and I thought they were absolutely amazing! They stuck on very well, and looked almost professional!

The downside, though, was that they had some very large sizes. ie. when I used all the smaller ones, the big ones didn't fit me all too well, so it looked like I had accidently painted my cuticle. Also, I found that when you washed your hands or ran them under water, the nail strip would weaken a bit

Other than that, I loved them, and they honestly were the easiest manicure that I had ever done!

That's a tough one.The only way to remove it is to get a magnifying glass, get right down on it with a small pair of manicure scissors, and cut it out fiber by fiber.Hopefully,it is not in a prominent place.Otherwise, you will have a hard time getting it out once it is dry.Sorry!

I kinda want 2 do it w/out my mom knowing because she doesnt know i spilled it.

it is a pale pink on a beigeish color carpetHow do you get dried nail polish out of carpet?
The best solvent for nail polish is acetone. Acetone can also dissolve some types of carpet fibers, so you'll need to test the nail polish remover on an out of the way corner of the carpet to see if it melts the carpet fibers.

You'll need to really soak the carpet fibers where the polish is dried in order to remove it. You're lucky it's pale pink. If it was a dark color the dye might never come out.

However, you could also try the non-acetone nail polish removers first. They will take longer to dissolve the nail polish, but won't harm the carpet's fibers.

I don't get it. If it's being painted, why get it off? The painter should take care of prepping the walls anyway.

It's an easy fix. If it's lumpy, just sand it down so that it's level with the wall. Either prime it, or have the painter do it. You can use polish remover, but I don't advise it because the polish typically will lose its luster and natural high gloss when this is used. Yes, there are 'special' thinners available for this purpose, but if you read the ingredients on the bottle, it's almost identical to most polish removers. Like polish remover, it has one or more of the various solvents which are used in the manufacturing process of nail polish. Solvents are added to polish to help it dry. This occurs when the solvents are exposed to air and slowly evaporate. Similar, or even identical solvents are used to remove polish. That said, adding more of these solvents will generally not be helpful if you want to be sure your polish will shine after it is applied to your nails and dried.

In a pinch, a few drops can and usually will help to thin the polish out a bit, but use sparingly. Only a few drops are needed. If you need more than that, your polish is way too old to be saved and should be discarded. Just my opinion. How do you refill your dried nail varnish ?
I know some people use nail vanish remover, it's possible the salons have a better product they use.

I've also heard of paint thinner.

    Dry, Brittle Nails Nutrition Tips

    1. Use nail polish remover no more than once a week.

    2. Avoid nail polish removers with acetone and remove nail polish at most once a week.

    3. Wear gloves.

    4. Avoiding prolonged exposure to water, such as swimming.

    5. Avoiding exposure to chemicals that irritate the skin and nails.

    6. Use hand lotion on your nails, too. Rub it in after you wash your hands or take a shower.

    7. Several vitamins and minerals have been proposed for the prevention of brittle nails.

    8. Use a glass file or an emery board instead of a metal nail file.

Also, make sure you file only in one direction.

-Petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) or a thick, water-washable cream acts as an emollient; it holds in moisture around and under your nails

-Put a thick layer of petroleum jelly on their hands when getting ready for bed, then wear cotton gloves overnight. This is especially helpful in winter, when hands and nails dry out quickly.

-Use a half-cup of warm olive oil and soak your hands for 15 to 30 minutes. Olive oil is the best because it's natural.

-Beware of nail polish removers, polish removers that contain acetone are drying.

Best of Luck. :)How do you help dry nails?

I don't want my dad to find out so I can't have him drive me to get somethign rediculous! HELP please!!!!!How do I remove dried nail polish from my rug?
Nail polish remover first, then follow up with some resolve. You need a good scrub brush, not a rag.How do I remove dried nail polish from my rug?
    Nail Varnish remover
You can use a product called Goof Off, you can find it at any hardware store. Only use on the surface of the fiber. Try not to let it soak to the bottom (alcohol or any alcohol base product) it could cause the backing to separate. Then shampoo area...good luck!
I don鈥檛 know if it鈥檚 possible, but you can try this.

You鈥檒l need to lift the polish out of the carpet. Don鈥檛 scrub with anything as you鈥檒l just spread it around more! I know you said you tried nail polish remover, but try pouring some more onto the stain. Let it sit for a minute or two, and then BLOT with an old towel or some paper towels. Blot really hard 鈥?stand on it if you have to. Repeat until the stain is gone (or mostly gone).
    its impossible
You can freeze it off, or scrape with a blunt knife to remove it . and use a small amount of nail varnish remover
    It's time for hardwoods...LOL.

How can dried nail polish be removed from hair, without using nail polish?

Daughter got into nail polish last night. She got polish on sheets, pajamas, and HER HAIR! The first two items are ruined, we'll concede that. How can we get nail polish out without using nail polish remover, which is harsh and will likely damage her hair? How can dried nail polish be removed from hair, without using nail polish?
Warm water and conditner, and lots of it. Leave it in for around 30min, and then get a nit / lice comb, and brush through it. Seeing as the bristles are so close together, there shouldnt be any problems removing it.

Good luck xHow can dried nail polish be removed from hair, without using nail polish?

How do I get an old dried nail polish stain out of my carpet?

The stain is with clear nail polish. How do I get an old dried nail polish stain out of my carpet?
The polish remover may dissolve the carpet fiber so proceed cautiously. If non acetone remover doesn't work, you may need to patch it. To do this you can get a round cutter or cut around the spot with a sharp utility knife -- a round coin shape works best. Cut a patch of the same size from the edge of the carpet in an inconspicuous place -- a corner or under floor length draperies. (That's assuming you don't have a piece of the original carpet.) Keep the same ';nap'; direction when you place the patch. Use a glue gun to attach the patch. Put the removed piece with the spot into the place where you removed the patch. How do I get an old dried nail polish stain out of my carpet?

How to remove dried nail polish stain from carpet?

I've already gotten most of the actual polish out, but it's still kinda pink. (It's a light brown carpet, bright pink polish). How to remove dried nail polish stain from carpet?
Spray a small amount of WD-40 on the spot and rub lightly until spot is removed, then clean area with some dishwashing detergent and warm water then rinse; do not soak carpet with warm water and blot until dry Good Luck !How to remove dried nail polish stain from carpet?
Moisten the area with hydrogen peroxide and let it sit for 30 minutes. Keep applying the hydrogen peroxide until the stain is completely removed. Then blot with paper towel to remove excess moisture!

Test for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area like a closet before trying this method!

Edit: since you already have most of the stain up, i'd try peroxide first, before trying nail polish remover, as nail polish remover can be much more damaging - it can remove the latex backing on the carpet!
My daughter spilled nail polish on her carpet, and she tried using nail polish remover, then peroxide and now we have a huge bleached out mark on her carpet....I am going to attempt the WD40, because the other options ruined her carpet and never got the nail polish out :-( And I am going to have to dye the carpet back to its normal color.
    Have you tried:

    nail polish remover

    or

    peroxide?

  • If i use nail polish remover to remove dry erase marker from a locker will it take off the paint!?

HELP!!! i need by monday! thanks so much!If i use nail polish remover to remove dry erase marker from a locker will it take off the paint!?
My fridge had dry erase marker on it... The ONLY THING that worked was a combination of the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser dipped in Nail polish remover. BE SURE to wipe with damp cloth, and dry afterward or it will leave a residue. I think the locker should be just as successful. If i use nail polish remover to remove dry erase marker from a locker will it take off the paint!?
not if the locker is coated with a baked enamel finish. It'll be fine.

Although if it is dry erase (and not sharpie or permanent marker) then there are dry erase cleaners at places like office depot and similar that will remove dry erase marker
yes will most likely remove paint. will dissolve varnish and finish, may dissolve paint depending on the kind.

try rubbing alcohol, spry nine or another cleanser.
What? lockers don't have paint on them do they? Or at least I have never seen nothing but metal lockers so um no~
nope. they sell stuff to remove dry erase marker; your teachers might have some if you ask nicely.

After having gel nails removed what is the best way to treat my dry nails?

I can't afford manicures so an alternative please...something I can do at home.

Thanks. After having gel nails removed what is the best way to treat my dry nails?
Buy Sally Hanson Vitamin E oil. Apply let set, and the dry off with a tissue. It moisturized . I believe Salons use this type of product too.

It sells for about 5$After having gel nails removed what is the best way to treat my dry nails?
Have you ever tried glue on nails? I wear them sometimes in fact im wearing them right now. If you live in Uhrichsville Ohio you can go to rite-aid and buy some Fingers Edge glue on nail and they come with stick on tabs. They are like $5.00, with tax there like $6. something. But if you glue them on and one falls off just glue the nail back on, and if they fall off when your not home just wait till you get home to glue it back on or you can just put the glue in your pocket or purse and if your nail falls just take it out and glue it back on! If your using the stick on tabs and your nail falls off just pick your nail back up (if you didn't lose it, if you did lose try to find it, if you cant find it then once you get home put a new nail on.) if you can find your nail just press it back on!
Buy some hardening/mineral clear polish, a nail file, and a good polish remover. Take care of your nails with those three things and your nails should be back to normal then. It may take 6 weeks for your nails to heal and stay mended together because of the harsh treatment. Good Luck :]
    Hi :)

I read this in a magazine, but i haven't tried it, but i will :)

Get a bowl, and fill it with olive oil and soak you nails in it for 20-30 minutes :)

This is suppose to make your nails stronger :)

    Hope this helps xxx
Almond oil. Do NOT use this if you or anyone around you has nut allergies!
i would just use a cuticle oil or cream. burts bees makes one that works well, and is pretty inexpensive at the drugstore.
Get some nail varnish with a special oil in for treating bad nails :)
just put enamel on them to keep from chipping and such.
    hand cream worked for me
